One ordinary seaman of this name was born in Llandudno on 15 October 1897. His service record indicates that his service number was J65293 and that he had been transferred from the RNVR. His previous occupation had been as a baker. John Thomas’ engagement began on 23 January 1917. He first served at HMS Vivid I, the Seamanship, Signalling and Telegraphy School at Devonport and was posted to HMS Suffolk in May 1917. John Thomas was discharged from the Royal Navy in July 1919. His home address was “Gadlys House”, Curzon Street, Llandudno.
