Visit by Ysgol San Sior to St. Tudno’s, 19 September 2017

editor : September 20, 2017 3:00 pm : Latest, TudnosPrevious, YsgolSanSior

Year 5 pupils from Ysgol San Sior visited St. Tudno’s to explore the church and churchyard. They learnt about the history of the church, looked for signs of wildlife in the churchyard and examined Victorian graves in particular. Rubbing grave inscriptions was a popular activity and they collected information on ages at death during Victorian times, to examine when back at school.

More photographs from the day can be found on the school’s Twitter site.

School Report, May 2016

editor : May 11, 2016 2:58 pm : Latest, YsgolSanSior

Ysgol San Sior is the Church Aided primary school in the parish and it has an “eggsellent” report for May! The school has its own egg production business and invites members of the parish to buy their eggs there.

Head teacher Ian Keith Jones said: “Our little business venture is no yoke and since we began producing the eggs almost three years ago things have gone from strength to strength. We now have a flock of 156 chickens at the school who between them laid around 17,000 eggs last year, compared to just over 15,000 in 2014. We’re able to sell most of them to our parents but during the school holidays, of course, the hens still keep laying so we sell to Bodnant Welsh Food Centre and Edwards of Conwy. Egg production in April reached an incredible 600 a week.”

Look out for the full report in the June edition of the Parish Magazine.
