The Feast of Life

Debuted at the 2000 Los Angeles Religious Education Congress, The Feast of Life reminds us of the fourteen banquets mentioned in Luke’s Gospel and invites us once again to hear and experience the stories of Jesus. In this musical by Marty Haugen, a diverse group of adults and children gather around a banquet table to retell the parables in Luke’s Gospel. The group tells and sings of “The Good Samaritan”, “The Prodigal Son”, “The Journey to Emmaus”, and other parables, as well as the birth and the Passion of Jesus.

The performance on Sunday 26 May at 3.00 pm will be at Holy Trinity Church (Anglican/Church in Wales), Mostyn Street, Llandudno.

The performance on Sunday 2 June at 5.00 pm will be at Gloddaeth Church (English Presbyterian/United Reform), Chapel Street, Llandudno.

Entry is free. There will be a voluntary retiring collection.

Easter Day at Holy Trinity Church, Sunday 21 April 2019

Easter celebrations at Holy Trinity began with Eucharist at 8.00 am, which was followed by Junior Church Communion at 9.30 am and Festal Eucharist at 10.30 am. Holy Trinity had been beautifully decorated with flowers and a lovely Easter Garden, which was blessed during the 10.30 am service, for which the church was packed.

Easter breakfast, Sunday 21 April, 2019

The Friends of St. Tudno’s Church cooked a breakfast of bacon baps or veggie burgers after the daybreak Easter Vigil service at St. Tudno’s. As the church has rather limited facilities the cooking was performed with plug in heaters in the porch.

Easter Day at St. Tudno’s Church, Sunday 21 April 2019

On Easter morning 29 “early birds” gathered at St. Tudno’s for the Easter Vigil service at 5.00 am. These included four visitors, one of whom had cycled up the Orme and another of whom had walked up. With the sky just starting to lighten and an almost full moon overhead, a fire was lit outside the church and Archdeacon Mary led the opening prayers.  Martin then attempted to light St. Tudno’s Paschal Candle from the fire but though it was relatively un-windy (for this location!) this wasn’t possible. The candle was lit in the church and the light passed from hand to had as the congregation entered. The service continued by candlelight until after the Peace and included the first Eucharist of Easter. The Friends of St. Tudno’s cooked a breakfast of bacon baps or veggie burgers and everyone went outside to watch a beautiful sunrise, with the sun reflected on the sea. What a beautiful start to Easter Day!
