Easter Day at St. Tudno’s Church, Sunday 21 April 2019

On Easter morning 29 “early birds” gathered at St. Tudno’s for the Easter Vigil service at 5.00 am. These included four visitors, one of whom had cycled up the Orme and another of whom had walked up. With the sky just starting to lighten and an almost full moon overhead, a fire was lit outside the church and Archdeacon Mary led the opening prayers.  Martin then attempted to light St. Tudno’s Paschal Candle from the fire but though it was relatively un-windy (for this location!) this wasn’t possible. The candle was lit in the church and the light passed from hand to had as the congregation entered. The service continued by candlelight until after the Peace and included the first Eucharist of Easter. The Friends of St. Tudno’s cooked a breakfast of bacon baps or veggie burgers and everyone went outside to watch a beautiful sunrise, with the sun reflected on the sea. What a beautiful start to Easter Day!
