Welcome to our month of prayer and reflection as we prepare for
the I 50th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of Holy Trinity
Church. The theme of the month, reflecting the theme of our celebration
next year, is 'Come to Him, a living stone' from the I st letter of St.
Peter.
As a Christian community we are invited to come to Christ - our true
cornerstone - to be refreshed and renewed in our life together in Him.
We are invited to become a community more deeply rooted in prayer that
we may grow in grace and become more effective in his service.
This theme will unfold as the month progresses, but in this
introduction I just want to introduce some of the main opportunities we
will have to take part both in church or at home.
A booklet introducing the theme in more detail and suggesting ways in
which everyone can participate will be available at the beginning of
the month.
There will be a time of prayer & reflection on Fridays at 12 noon
and at Sunday Evening Prayer at 5 pm (On Sunday 23rd - Christ the King
Sunday - this will take place at 3.00 pm at St.Tudno's).
Church members are encouraged to come to Morning or Evening Prayer on
Sundays or weekdays.
Church members are invited to say a simplified Daily Office in their
own homes and special booklets will be available for those who are
willing to commit themselves
to this.
Psalm I 19 and the first letter of Peter will form the basis of our
reflections throughout the month.
I look forward to sharing this month with you as we look forward to the
exciting year ahead.
