Eucharist for Lent group

During Lent 2017 there were weekly services of Compline held jointly with Aberconwy Mission Area. The services were followed by discussions reflecting on the Eucharist. On Wednesday 26 April a Eucharist service was held for those who had attended the Lent group and the Eucharist was concelebrated by the priests present.

Easter breakfast 2017

Members of the Friends of St. Tudno’s prepared the church for the Easter service, took part in the Easter Liturgy and cooked a breakfast of bacon baps afterwards.

Easter Day 2017 at Holy Trinity

There were Eucharist services at 8.00 and 10.30 am and Evening Prayer at 5.00 p. The church was beautifully decorated with flowers and the Easter Garden. The wooden cross which had formed a focus at services throughout Lent was transformed into a cross of flowers.

Good Friday 2017 at Holy Trinity

At 12.00 noon the Cytûn (Churches Together) Open Air Service was held in the church grounds and was led by Cytûn President Revd. Mike Harrison. The Liturgy of the Cross was held at 2.00 pm.

Maundy Thursday 2017 at Holy Trinity

The Eucharist service in the evening included the Washing of Feet and ended with the stripping of altars. However the altar in the Memorial Chapel formed the Altar of Repose for the Watch. This finished with Compline at 9.50 pm, after which this altar was stripped too.

Wednesday in Holy Week 2017 at St. Tudno’s

The annual service of Light and Shadows was held on Wednesday 12 April and was a joint service with Aberconwy Mission Area. The service began with lighting of candles. During the reading of the Passion Gospel the candles were gradually extinguished, finishing with the old Paschal Candle, and the service ended in darkness.

Tuesday in Holy Week 2017 at Holy Trinity

Two services were held on the evening of Tuesday 11 April. Stations of the Cross reflected on a series of sonnets by Malcolm Guite and this was followed by a Table Eucharist in the Memorial Chapel.

Palm Sunday at St. Tudno’s 2017

St. Tudno’s followed an old tradition of decorating the church with willow catkins (“pussy willow” or “palm”) for Palm Sunday.

 

Palm Sunday at Holy Trinity 2017

The 10.30 am service included a palm procession around the church led by a donkey and the Sunday School. Members of the congregation enjoyed meeting the donkey before the service.
