Christmas and
New Year greetings to all who have rung our bells during the year and
to ringers everywhere.
Any visiting ringers are welcome to
join us to ring for Sunday morning services - ringing starts at
10am, service at 10.30am.
Ringing
in the New Year
We used to ring the New Year in at midnight on New Year's Eve but had
difficulty getting sufficient ringers. In recent years we have
therefore rung at noon on New Year's Day and this year we did just that.
Sunday
20 December. The handbell ringers
took part in Carols by Candlelight at St. Tudno's Church and there is
another photograph on the St. Tudno's
page.
Friday 18 December. The handbell ringers performed some
carols during carol singing around the Christmas tree in Holy Trinity's
grounds, as part of the Christmas Tree Festival (see Special
Events page).
Sunday
5 July. Ringing for the special
service to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of laying the cornerstone
for Holy Trinity in 1865.
l-r. Stan, Linda, Gillian, Elizabeth, Neil, and Ellen
Saturday
30 - Sunday 31 May. The bell ringers
put on a display on the bells as part of Holy Trinity's 150th
celebrations and the display was complimented with a beautiful flower
arrangement featuring handbells. The handbell ringers performed
in the church on both days and the church bells were rung on the Sunday
afternoon.
Sunday 10 May. Ringing for the 70th Anniversary of VE Day.
Left to right: David, Gillian, Linda, Becky, Elizabeth, and Chris.
February 7th. The North Wales
Association of Church Bell Ringers (Gwynedd & West Clwyd Branch)
held its Annual General Meeting at Holy Trinity. A reasonable
attendance enjoyed ringing, followed by a short service of evensong,
tea, and the AGM itself.
Three of our ringers were appointed or re-appointed as officials.
l-r. Stan Whittaker (Treasurer), David Raggett (Ringing Master), and
Emily Wilde is the new Secretary.
Two of our ringers were also elected as members of the Association.
Linda Baker and Alex Freeman have joined our band in recent times - you
are both very welcome.
January 12th. A
visit to the tower by a young man called Jack from Penrhyndeudraeth
together with his carer Cari Mai. Jack is very keen on churches and
bells and it was a pleasure to show him round and give him a go on the
treble bell.
Thursday 1st January. The
bellringers rang in the new year. Happy new year to all our
bellringing friends and to all who read this page.
