Easter Week 2006, and
Nigel, our
Curate, suggested that perhaps, once a week, we might include some
music in the office of Morning Prayer. It was
decided that Thursday morning would be a suitable time and so, each
week, Nigel prepared and led this service.
Through the seasons, those of us who joined the clergy for Morning Prayer have found this worship increasingly valuable. The words of scripture, psalm and prayer, enhanced by music, speak powerfully to us. We sing our praise and thanksgiving. Sometimes, quiet reflective music leads into our prayer for others. Nigel has now left us, but Morning Prayer with Music continues. Come and join us if you can. ‘Praise the Lord, O my soul, I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have being’ (Ps 146) After spiritual
nourishment, hot
coffee and tea cakes at a local café sustain us physically
while, round the table, our fellowship continues!
