The Friends of St. Tudno’s annual open day at St. Tudno’s was held on Saturday 6 August. The theme was “Exploring the Churchyard” and visitors were invited to test a new, self-guided churchyard tour with children’s activities which is being developed by the Churchyards Committee. The Friends served refreshments in the church and there were displays on the churchyard, including some work from Ysgol San Sior year 5 pupils, who visited the churchyard last autumn.

editor : August 11, 2016 11:57 am : FriendsInAction

On 30 June the Friends had an outing to Mary Jones World, Bala, and Pennant Melangell. At Mary Jones World we learnt about Mary’s 26 mile walk to by a Bible and how that inspired the formation of the Bible Society. After lunch we visited Shepherd’s Stream Retreat and St. Melangell’s Church, where there was a short service around St. Melangell’s Shrine, as shown in the photograph.

After the Easter Liturgy at St. Tudno’s on Easter Sunday, the Friends of St. Tudno’s provided a breakfast of bacon baps or vegetarian burgers followed by marmalade cake. As St. Tudno’s has no kitchen, breakfast was cooked in the porch on electric griddles and served in the church.

The Friends are currently raising funds to replace the screen doors and window coverings and for some work on the east window to be carried out.
