Farewell to Nigel
Nigel’s last Sunday with
us was on 17 June, before moving to begin a new ministry in Holyhead.
On that day he presided over the Eucharist for
the last time as our Curate at 10.30 a.m. and following the service we
said our official goodbye to him at a reception in the Hall.
Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra
Concert
On Monday 23 July there was
a concert by the Cologne New
Philharmonic Orchestra in Holy Trinity Church at 7.30 pm. The
concert
included works by Vivaldi, Mozart & Elgar.

St Luke’s Coffee Morning
The annual coffee morning in
support of St Luke’s hospital for the clergy, held in the church hall
on October 17th (St Luke’s-tide), raised £534.59. My thanks
go to everyone who helped in organising the morning, particularly to
Marjorie Dwyfor Jones, who is the inspiration behind it all and is
largely responsible for recruiting the huge band of workers who rally
to the hospital’s support every year.

"Seeds for Africa" coffee
morning
There was a special
coffee morning in the church hall on Saturday 3 November, in aid
of farmers in our link diocese of Lango
in Uganda, to enable farmers to buy seeds for next season's crops after
floods destroyed this season's crops. There was also a
retiring collection for "Seeds for Africa" after services on Sunday 4
November. The coffee morning and collection raised more than
£350, which will be sent directly to those in need.
Autumn
Parish Conference
This autumn’s Parish Conference was on the afternoon of
Sunday 18th November and was on the theme of Baptism. The
Church in Wales has recently revised its Baptism and Confirmation
services and this was an opportunity to introduce the new service
of Baptism. It was also an opportunity to think how we
could be more creative in the way we celebrate this vital sacrament and
how we can make families more welcome and keep in touch with them
afterwards.
Christmas
Fayre
The Christmas Fayre was held in the church hall on Saturday 24
November. The photographs below show scenes from the Fayre, which
was enjoyed by stall holders and customers. Many thanks to
everyone who contributed and attended.
Events
at St.
Tudno's Church in 2007
The annual services of Carols
by Candlelight were held on Sunday 23 December, at 3.00 pm and at 5.00
pm. The 3.00 pm service was attended by 135 people and the 5.00
pm service by 110 people. The photograph below was taken at the
second service.
On Thursday 7 June there was a special Eucharist service at 2.30
pm
to celebrate 400 years of use of the St. Tudno chalice (see Rector's
Letter for June 2007) and St. Tudno's Day. The
service was followed by tea and cakes served in the
church grounds.
