Floodlights at Holy Trinity

On Thursday 16 February 2017 the new floodlights at Holy Trinity were switched on. The two lights were switched on by the Mayor of Llandudno, Cllr Carol Marubi, and Mrs. Joyce Crosby, representing the church’s Mustard Seed Card and Book Shop which had donated much of the costs.  Refreshments were served in the church hall after the ceremony.

Charity presentations

On 8 February 2017 presentations were made to three local charities: Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice, St. David’s Hospice and 418 Aberconwy Squadron Air Training Corps. Each charity received one third of the car park takings from the week before Christmas 2016 – one of the busiest weeks of the year.

Epiphany 2017

At the Epiphany service on 6 January the Nativity scene was completed with the addition of the figures of the Magi.

Carols Around the Christmas Tree 2016

On Thursday 22 December people gathered about the outdoor Christmas Tree at Holy Trinity to sing Christmas Carols. The Mayor of Llandudno attended, the singing was supported by Holy Trinity Church Choir and music was provided by Beulah Brass and Holy Trinity Handbell Ringers. Additional colour was provided by lights on trees in the church grounds.

Carols by Candlelight Preparation 2016

The Friends began preparation on Saturday 17 December, fitting some of the outdoor benches in the church to provide extra seating, decorating the Christmas trees and the church and setting out the candles. The friends returned the next morning, before the services, to put out lights by the paths. Friends were also involved in the three services and cleared away afterwards. There are some photographs of the services on this page.

Carols by Candlelight 2016

Three services were held at St. Tudno’s on Sunday 18 December, which enabled everyone attending to be seated safely and comfortably. The 3.00 pm service was attended by 68 people, with music provided by Holy Trinity Choir. At 4.30 pm there were 98 people and they enjoyed listening to the Holy Trinity Handbell Ringers. The final service at 6.00 pm was attended by 59 people, while Cantamus Chamber Choir provided the music. The church was prepared by the Friends of St. Tudno’s, who also lit the paths, and more photographs can be seen on the Friends’ page.

Civic Service on Remembrance Sunday

The Civic Service for Remembrance Sunday was held on Sunday 13 November at 9.45 am at Holy Trinity Church. This was followed by a dedication at the town’s War Memorial at 11.00 am.

A service of Holy Eucharist began at Holy Trinity Church at 10.55 am which started with an Act of Remembrance.

Boer War Remembrance

The annual service to remember the local men who died in the Boer War was held at St. Tudno’s on Saturday 12 November. After a short service in the church, wreaths were laid at the Boer War Memorial in the churchyard by the Mayor of Llandudno and by the President of the Lions Club of Llandudno. The Air Cadets, the Sea Cadets and the RNA were all represented at the service.
